Product Overview
G-Rex® is the market leader in cell and gene therapy production due to its scalability, simplicity, and reliability. In partnership with Wilson Wolf Manufacturing LLC, Skroot has developed a SMART G-Rex® that can track cell progression without any sampling. The vessel is simply placed on a continuous reader in the incubator and the growth extent is reported in real-time to any internet enabled device (computer or phone). The tracked growth can indicate harvest time, level of cell production, and aberrant runs. Learn more below.

Product Highlights
-
Eliminates the need for manual sampling and moving the G-Rex® out of the incubator for the entire run.
-
Allows for higher density G-Rex® production (more vessels per shelf)
-
Provides users with a "Ready, Not Ready" indicator allowing the operator to quickly screen what vessels to harvest
-
Software compliance: 21 CFR Part 11 compliant
-
Reader compliance: FCC, UL, REACH, RoHS, CE (pending)
SMART Sensor
SMART sensors are integrated into the G-Rex® during production and undergo the same sterilization procedure. The sensor does not change standard G-Rex® operating procedures .

The SMART sensor leverages a selective transduction membrane that softens when it is exposed to secreted metabolites that present in cell growth (see right). As the transduction membrane softens the sensor response changes. Read more in our publications.

Software
The continuous reader streams data to an external tablet adjacent to the incubator. It also transfers the growth information to a secure AWS dashboard for the client. This can be viewed on mobile devices and desktops (both shown) to track currently running cell growths and completed runs. This allows an unprecedented level of oversight on production timing and scheduling allowing for increased scale and efficiencies.
Reader
The continuous reader is designed to house nine G-Rex® 100M on a standard incubator shelf. If can be daisy chained to multiple other shelves in the same incubator. A single ethernet cord passes from the readers to the tablet adjacent to the incubator (through the rear access port). It is designed to maximize air flow. During routine sterilization cycles, it is removed and sprayed with disinfectant.

Harvest Indicator
The continuous reader enables optional push notifications on harvest status to operators (text or email) as well as detection of aberrant cell growth (no growth or contamination).
