Product Overview

The Tunair™ flask provides superior growth in shake flask fermentation due to its proprietary baffle design, achieving high yields consistently. It is a preferred vessel in manufacturing settings. The SMART Tunair™ integrates the Skroot platform to enable continuous measurement of cell growth from within the incubator. This information can provide push notifications for important culture events such as feed, induction, and harvest. The reader is network capable allowing for the growth data to be streamed in real-time to any internet enabled device.

SMART Tunair

SMART sensors are integrated into the Tunair™ during production and undergo the same sterilization procedure. Operators simply follow their standard shake flask protocols.

The SMART sensor leverages a selective transduction membrane that softens when it is exposed to secreted metabolites that present in cell growth. As the transduction membrane softens the sensor response changes (reported as the Skroot Growth Index, SGI). Read more in our publication.

Reader

The SMART reader for the Tunair™ flask is integrated into the retention clamp. The flask is placed and rotated such that the sensor is proximal to the reader which wirelessly interrogates the sensor every minute. The readers can be daisy chained in the incubator to enable monitoring of multiple flasks. The reader computational unit sits outside of the incubator and displays real-time data and provides the wireless connection to push data to a secure AWS dashboard.

Software

The SMART software comes pre-loaded onto the the reader computational unit. It allows for real-time monitoring of the cell growths in the lab as well as from any internet enabled device.
