FAQs
1. Can SGI go negative?
Yes, in fact it is expected during the lag phase due to equilibration to the media. Negative readings should disappear within the first 72 hours. If negative readings persist, this typically indicates a bad measurement or aberrant cell growth.
2. How often do readers need to be calibrated?
Only upon initial arrival and after environmental changes, such as changing location.
3. Can user authentication be disabled?
Yes, via the settings. Press ☰ → Settings → System Configuration → Configuration. See the user guide for more details. Warning: disabling user authentication will make the device irreversibly 21 CFR part 11 non-compliant.
4. Can we change the password?
Yes, the reader will come with credentials for a system administrator login. This can be changed by pressing ☰ → Manage Users → Modify User → Reset Password. See the user guide for more details.
5. Can we print our own barcodes for the G-Rex vessels?
Yes, but they must adhere to GS1 DataMatrix specifications and have a mandatory serial number field (Application Identifier 21). The serial number will be used as the SMART ID by the benchtop reader.
6. Can we leave the Reader powered on for extended periods of time?
Yes, if this makes operation simpler it can be left on for days (or weeks).
